Cogne Mines

The film Miniere di Cogne, Val d’Aosta was directed by Marco Elter in the thirties. His aim was to describe and illustrate the history of the mine, the quarrying of the mineral (magnetite) and the work and lives of the miners.

The film will be screened at the Miners’ Village of Cogne until the 30th of September 2010. The exhibition Cogne Mines – temporary exhibition to keep memory alive can also be visited. Timetable

The outdoor exhibition “Through Cogne: Franz Elter, la Guerra, la miniera” will be displayed from the centre of Cogne to the Miners’ Village. The exhibition is dedicated to the historic mine of Cogne and to the figure of Franz Elter, who directed it for years.
