Two brothers and a valley: Federico and Renato Chabod

From Saturday the 3rd of July the temporary exhibition Two brothers and a valley: Federico and Renato Chabod – Valsavareche will be open at the Gran Paradiso National Park’s Visitor Centre of Valsavarenche.
The exhibition is a tribute to two important figures from Valsavarenche, who throughout the 20th century played an important part in various areas: in culture, politics, mountaineering…
The show includes a film that retraces the most significant moments in Federico Chabod’s life through photographs and captions, with the music of his favourite composer: Mozart. The exhibition also presents 14 paintings by Renato Chabod, as well as photographs, personal objects and family mementoes.
The exhibition is organised by Fondation Grand Paradis with the support of Valsavarenche municipality and in collaboration with the Historical Institute of the Resistance and contemporary society of Aosta Valley and the Regional Department of Education and Culture. The exhibition has been possible also thanks to the idea and helpfulness of Adriana and Valeria Chabod, Renato’s daughters, who have made the show’s handwritten captions.
The Gran Paradiso National Park’s visitor centre of Valsavarenche and the exhibition Two brothers and a valley: Federico and Renato Chabod – Valsavarenche will be open until the 12th of September 2010, every day except Wednesday (though open on the 7th of July) from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm.
As well as the exhibition, Valsavarenche proposes, as an original reference point for the territory’s culture, from the 3rd to the 11th of July, Montagne aux livres, a week of meetings, book presentations and in-depth study of mountain culture.
