Call for entries 2024: applications for the 27th Gran Paradiso Film Festival are now open

The organisational machine of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival has not stopped. After the 26th edition of the international wildlife film festival has registered great numbers in terms of on-site and online audiences, work is already underway on the next kermis, scheduled from 22 to 27 July 2024 in the Gran Paradiso National Park. The spirit remains the same - to contribute to raising awareness of the extraordinary nature around the world, combining the images of the films in competition with conferences and food for thought that have the power to convey a message of care for nature and the environment.

Registration for the 27th International Competition of films dedicated to nature and environmental issues has officially opened in September. The application is free of charge and open to anyone who has produced a feature film or short film - in the latter case a documentary, fiction or animation film of a maximum duration of 20 minutes - about nature and released after 1 January 2021.

Each director may submit up to two works - as long as they have never been selected in previous editions - and compete for various prizes. The main prizes are the following:

International Competition – Feature Films

- “Stambecco d’Oro” (3,000€)
- “Stambecco d’Oro Junior” (500€)

International Competition – Short Films

- CortoNatura Award (2,000€)

International Competition – GPFF ONLINE

- GPFF online Award (1,500€)

The organisation must receive the entry form and materials to be attached no later than 29 February 2024.

Requirements and terms of participation are detailed in the rules and regulations, which can be consulted on the festival website: https://www.gpff.it/call-for-entries-2024/?lang=en

In addition to the technical jury - composed of image professionals, animal filmmakers and authoritative personalities from the worlds of science, culture and nature - the audience jury will vote on the competing titles. In fact, it is the spectators who award the “Stambecco d'Oro”: by attending the free screenings, they can give their verdict by using the voting card provided. The “Stambecco d'Oro Junior” is awarded by the youngest spectators, while the GPFF Online Award is conferred by the online jury who, once registered, will be able to view and vote for the films streamed on their own device through a dedicated streaming portal. The Gran Paradiso Film Festival confirms its international, inclusive and digital vocation.
